Dutch Doors is a type of exterior door used in 17th century Netherlands. The doors were horizontally split with the bottom half of solid wood with top half either sold wood or different sized glass panes. The original idea of the door was to keep children in the house and animals out. While at the same time open top half of the door allowed air ventilation and sunlight into the home. With most homes that have Dutch doors are now least 100 to 150 years old by this date are needed to be replaced with quality doors.
